For this contest we combined our separate talents of duct tape and sewing. The dresses were made with duct tape covered fabric, cut and sewn like regular fabric. Our dresses were designed to have contrasting elements, such as the lengths and colors. Going on a "glamorous" theme, we used roses and diamonds to decorate the dresses as well as silver accents. We also used since discontinued pastel blue and purple duct tape to soften the dark colors of the dresses. Having these similar decorations helped to tie the dresses together, making them look more like two pieces from the same collection, rather than two completely separate dresses. The accessories were all made with flowers, created by cutting out fabric backed duct tape petals and constructing them around jewelry pins.
