Check out the winners and highlights from 15 years of Stuck at Prom®.
I've been sewing with my mom since I was five years old. When we found out about the contest i thought it was a fantastic way to explore the world of duct tape, fashion design, team work and creativity. Jeremy and I selected a Victorian Era steam-punk theme for our prom outfits in order to stand out. We started by creating a pattern for each of the pieces, making large sheets of duct tape, and cutting it out. To make the ruffles we used a rotary blade to make the squiggle edges, punched holes and laced string through to wrinkle it. We wanted to represent the more mechanical side of Steampunk, so we attached gears to our outfits. All of the visible white tape is Glow in the dark. To make the garters we laced elastic through in a strip of tape.
